From The Pastor’s Desk
What a great year it is starting out to be. Can you believe it is already February!!! As I was thinking about the article for this week, I couldn't help but reflect on the countless positive affirmations and acts of service that I have witnessed from so many of you. Your dedication and the positive atmosphere in our church are genuinely inspiring. This is one of the most amazing hands, feet, voice, and heart churches I have ever served. Your wonderful comments and commitments to me, each other, and the church are a testament to your love and devotion.
With all that in mind, let us remember that when God wants a great servant, He calls a busy person. The scriptures attest to this truth. Remember the times when God called these people to serve him:
Moses was busy with his flock at Horeb.
David was busy searching for his father’s sheep.
Elisha was busy plowing with twelve yoke of oxen.
Nehemiah was busy bearing the king’s wine cup.
Amos was busy following the flock.
Peter and Andrew were busy casting their nets into the sea.
James and John were busy mending their nets.
Matthew was busy collecting taxes.
Saul was busy persecuting the friends of Jesus.
So please, prayerfully seek God's guidance throughout each day, as I know many of you are already busy, but you may be asked to assume a place of responsibility. It is no trouble for all of us to find enough to keep us busy. The real question is, “Where will we be busy, and for whom?” God delights in calling busy people with the graces and skills to work His “business.” Will you be busy with His “Business?” Please continue to say yes when you are asked to serve. Your past service, which has been invaluable and greatly appreciated, is a testament to your dedication, and I am deeply grateful for all you do.
Come Grow With Us,
Misty
