From the Pastor’s Desk…
In the next few weeks, we will celebrate Palm Sunday, Holy Week, and Easter. I know that we, as a church, could not do the things that we do around here without the help of so many talented people. I want to take a moment today to express my gratitude to two individuals: Rev. Steve Badskey and Mrs. Sherry Moore.
Steve has been a blessing to me since day one and to many of you for decades. Even though his official title is Minister of Worship, he works harder than most people I know! Steve is always quick to fill in when I'm unable to be in two places at once. He visits, leads various meetings, and handles almost all the setup for our online worship. Steve has even brought us the morning message. Those are just a few of the duties Steve performs with such a loving, gifted heart and soul. Steve’s kind, gentle, wise, and spiritual presence fills our hearts, and we are truly blessed.
Most importantly, Steve leads and performs with the incredible groups that make up our Music department. He dedicates hours and hours to sharing his gifts not only with our church but also with all those who enter these doors. His talents and love for God combine to make for one incredible man whom we are fortunate to have on our staff.
Our other blessing is Sherry. I have met many pianists in my day, but she is by far one of the most talented. She shares her gifts with us each week with beauty and grace. I am amazed that when we had our Hymn sing last week, she never batted an eye when all the favorite hymns were called out. As we called out numbers from the Cokesbury and the regular hymnal, she played each one as if we were her favorite as well.
I hope that you will take a moment this Sunday after church and thank them for their hard work and the superior jobs they are doing. Or drop them a note to say thank you for all they do. As we continue throughout this Lenten season and approach Easter, may we be ever mindful of all that Christ has done for us and what we can do for others in His name.
Come Grow With Us,
Misty
