From the Pastor’s Desk…
This coming week is it. All the hard work and dedication have led up to this moment. This week is the most sacred week of the year, distinguishing us from all other religions in the world. Holy Week defines who we are; it is our foundation, our cornerstone, and our Christian DNA. Everything else is built upon the events of this week.
This coming Sunday, we will hear about how Jesus entered Jerusalem on a donkey, demonstrating to the entire city that He is the King. Yet, by the end of Holy Week, we will find Christ on the cross, lifeless. Just eight days after entering the city, He will have defeated death and risen from the grave. Holy Week is a time for us, as a family of faith, to experience these events together. We must immerse ourselves in the emotions, the suffering, and the love that are expressed during this time. It is through this week that we are to walk hand in hand with our Lord and Savior as He takes on the sins of the world and restores things in God's eyes.
My prayer is that as we enter Holy Week, we will be prepared for the glory of Easter Sunday, a day of hope and new beginnings. Reaching that glory means going through each event. There is no Easter Sunday without Good Friday, no Good Friday without Maundy Thursday, and no Maundy Thursday without Palm Sunday. Each day and each service provides the keys to a soul-fulfilling Holy Week. So, let’s walk together as a congregation, hand in hand, as our Lord takes us on a journey that opens up eternity for all. Remember, Sunday is coming!
Come Grow With Us,
